The close relationship between IBM and Blue Coat provides customers a managed service that allows greater protection against Web threats and the means enhancing corporate IT standards, while reducing operating costs.

Blue Coat Systems and IBM have announced the signing of a global agreement whereby IBM will provide a new offer managed security service for secure Internet gateway, relying on Blue Coat appliances.

The new managed service solution reduces security threats due to their characteristics:

- Monitoring and ongoing management of the solution Secure Internet Gateway Blue Coat.

- Diversified and integrated security solutions available from a single Web portal.

- IBM Research’s exclusive X-Force about the threats and security vulnerabilities.

- Modular approach the use and acquisition of a flexible architecture infrastructure.
