New advances in plastic components used in the manufacture of touch screens will lower the final price of the products.

A new technology implemented in the touch screens could significantly reduce the cost of the screens that are currently implemented in the Mobile and Smartphone devices as a group of scientists include Fraunhofer Institute located in Germany.

The screens consist of carbon nanotubes are based on manufacturing with cheaper materials and are found in abundance, so that reducing economic dependence by using inferior materials available, which are currently being used for devices and Large Format Displays.

Today, touch screens are coated with a surface made of ITO particles glass (Indium Tin Oxide). It is used in almost all Antall LCD, plasma, OLED, touch panels and electrochromatic, so the industry has on many occasions expressed its concern to ensure continuity of supply.

The scientists behind the discovery are stressed that “there are very few deposits Indium Tin Oxide worldwide, which in terms of manufacturing of electronic devices, there are fears that its dependence on end to raise significantly the price of components if not studied any other option.”

The new technology could produce displays of similar quality to those manufactured with existing materials, deployed in a wide variety of formats and models, and look at manufacturing processes using renewable sources. Its main components are carbon nanotubes and polymers of low cost, highlights Fraunhofer team.

plastic touchscreenThe new electrode is composed of two layers. One is the carrier, consisting of a thin film made from component PET polyethylenterephthalate currently used to manufacture plastic bottles. When mixed with carbon nanotubes and electrical conducting polymers, is applied to the PET as a solution in a thin film.

The electrical resistance in the new screen is slightly higher than those based on ITO without losing the excellent showing the current property to support the touch operation.

The first sample is expected to be presented soon in a nanotechnology event takes place next month in Tokyo.

TomTom has introduced the fifth version of HD Traffic, the traffic information system in real time using their browsers. The new version of HD Traffic technology uses Open LR and provides information for all roads in the road network.

TomTom HD Traffic 5.0 provides expanded coverage and greater accuracy, improving the calculation of the estimated time of arrival and possible route changes. In the new version, TomTom has included roadblocks update noting that part of the route is interrupted. For Corinne Vigreux, Managing Director of Consumer TomTom with HD Traffic 5.0 “drivers will have at its disposal an even more reliable information traffic. In this way, we not only improve travel times, it also means a reduction in stress levels of drivers and therefore improving their quality of life.

” TomTom’s solution uses technology Open LR (alternative to RDS -TMC), which provides traffic information covering up to 99.9% of the entire road network, so traffic jams can be reported even in exit roads, access roads and secondary roads that are not covered by other technologies . Drivers who already have a TomTom HD Traffic subscription will automatically receive the update on your device. TomTom HD Traffic is available for drivers who have a TomTom device connected through partners and make use of this service.

The technology industry prepares for the most decisive moment of the year: the Christmas campaign. An era in which consumer electronics companies are played between 30% and 35% of annual income and the ICT industry as a whole by 15% and 20% of its global turnover linked to consumption ( as PC City in video games may be up to 40% of the annual business). And this year, if possible, the development of holiday shopping can be the key to save the accounts of one of the most complicated exercises in recent times because of crisis and the effect that increasing number of unemployed could have on consumption.

Sebastian Pascual, head of Sales and Marketing Techdata, wants to be optimistic and claims that “in early December, has been noticed much movement.” His company has found a great interest of the stores to have full shelves. The manager says it will be a campaign of many promotions “that” will be also very visible to users.

Optiz CEO, Rafael Mira, warns that after the paralysis experienced between July and September, the sector has recovered activity in October and November. The executive believes that it will accentuate price wars because companies need to bulk up. “The end of the year is approaching and must meet goals,” said the manager, who adds that products like televisions have seen price declines of 70% in three years. Something else has happened in laptops, which have restructured their bid to reach the general public at affordable prices.

Timothy Manuel, Doctortrade CEO, believes that people spend more on Christmas than it is assumed, and “two, three or four gifts that makes at least one is electronic. For its part, PC City sources indicate that the trend “to be a rebound in consumption, as every year, but with the difference that this will be for a period of time much smaller and can even fit into some three weeks .

The star products

The companies agree that the TVs will escape the crisis resulting from the technological renovation of analogue switch. “There are flat TVs at very affordable prices and people are buying different formats, as for the secondary classroom or other rooms,” says Pascual. In this line, a Media Markt stand LED screens, and recalls that at a World Cup year and will be 2010; many users will use to change the TV.

In PC netbooks City believe that they will live the year of his confirmation as a “gift star, since it involves making available to all computers from just 249 euros. Tim also points to smartphones, led by the Apple iPhone as another “king” of Christmas. And is that both portable and smartphones are exploding thanks to the growth plans for broadband operators, which are flat rates are becoming a driving force.

Another gadget that more than one included in his letter to Santa Claus are kings or storage products, which are gaining ground in as users increasingly save photos, music and video. “The customer can buy a terabyte hard drives under 100 euros,” says Timothy.

Watch matches the English Court stating that the ebook also excelled. “There are more offers subscriptions to newspapers and books for these devices,” says the executive. Although, Pascual believes that “Christmas will be the first eBook” because brands have not yet come into Spain and publishers are positioning yet.

Introducing Bulletproof Vest

During the Korean War, several new vests were produced for the U.S. military, including the M-1651 which brought a great improvement in weight. However, it was not very effective level of protection against bullets and shrapnel. The life of the Vietnam War made use of various nylon combinations, new ceramic able to block bullets, fiber glass and materials used in steel armor of the Second World War and Korean War.

In 1968, the American Body Armor was founded and produced a combination of nylon covered with several steel plates. This type of jacket was sold by the firearm Smith & Wesson Company under the name “Barrier vest” for the police.

In the mid 1970s, Dupont Corporation introduced the synthetic fiber Kevlar which designed to reinforce tires. The National Institute of Justice submitted new material in a methodical evaluation in order to check if the Kevlar would stop a shot first, and determine the number of layers needed to get there. Lester Shubin, who was appointed coordinator of this assessment, provides a report that ultimately approved the Kevlar (as material) could provide good protection, which was mild and could be comfortably worn by police officers regularly, and save lives.

In 1975, Richard A. Armellino, the founder of American Body Armor, Marketing a vest made entirely of Kevlar, named K-15, consisting of 15 layers of Kevlar and a steel plate ballistic 5 “x8″ vertical height of the heart. This type of plate is still used in modern vests to reduce internal injuries in the heart and sternum.

In 1976, Richard Davis, the founder of Second Chance Body Armor, Developed the first body armor company made entirely of Kevlar. It was Named “Model Y”, lightweight vest that allowed him to become the new form of protection for everyday modern police forces. In the mid 1980s, an estimated then that between one third and half of the officers on patrol in the United States has the bulletproof vest on a regular basis. In 2006, the U.S., over 2,000 police officers have had their lives saved by their jacket, thus proving the adequacy of body armor as part of standard equipment for the police.

Making the earth better place to stay

People are dreaming for the first time when they have wished to invent some things such as gadget which able to doing something like human. Some years later, they are able to make it even better. Some research already invented robot that is not only able to do some activities but can react the owner’s emotion. It is not only about creativity but also about hard works.

Positive effect of technology will get when the owner or the creator has good purpose when invent it. Some moments ago there is international robot competition. The competition is about inventing robot which able to detect and deal with the fire. The competition will not only stop when the champion is declared but the result can be applied in daily life. It is very useful for house or company security system.

It is a proved that technology impacts will bring positive effect from human being as it is used for the goodness. For sure, brilliants students from across the world will invent other robot, gadget or technology that will help human safe nature and safe their self from natural selection. Earth is supposed to be taking care more by human and its technology to make better condition for all the living things.

New Solar Powered Plane will Round the World

The new solar powered plane or so called solar impulse plane is quite light with 61 m of length and 1,500 kg of weight. It uses the very efficient solar cells, batteries, motors and propellers that will be used in the non-sun lights day. It will get the trial flight around the globe as the trial plans of Dr Piccard that had ever tried around the globe non-stop by balloon in year 1999. The solar powered plane will be tried to fly around Atlantic in year 2012.

Dr Piccard said that it is so challenging to flight a plane with the only solar energy as the power. It will be more challenging in the night time when the sun lights go down. Yet it will still be tried and will firstly try in a short destination. It will try to across Atlantic first and then across the earth with the route; United Arab Emirates – to China – to Hawaii – across Southern United State – Southern Europe – and then back to the UAE.

Dr Piccard said that theoretically the solar powered plane is able to fly non-stop across the earth. But he isn’t sure that the pilot can do it because the plane will fly slowly with 25 knots of speed; it will take about 20-25 days of flights and it is a very long time for the pilot to fly without any rest. The maximums days of the pilot flight are five days. So, it is a great invention for today because it can help us to save more energy and get the more function of natural energy.
