Intel Core i7 i5 and dual-core ultralight
Intel began selling its i5 Core and Core i7-based dual-core Sandy Bridge architecture for portable low power consumption.
In particular, based on 20 this month, Intel confirms that it will begin to market new models of laptops with new embedded processors. Both the Core and the Core i7 i5 will be available in different speeds that can vary between 1.4 GHz and 2.7 GHz addition, the power dissipation of these models varies between 17 and 35 watts. These processors based on the Sandy Bridge architecture that was presented in early January; members of both CPU cores, as the graphics chipset on the same silicon wafer.
The first Sandy Bridge processor available was the one that corresponded with the quad-core targeting high-end notebooks. The new dual-core now announced are aimed at ultralight laptops, in which we look for a perfect balance between power and energy consumption. The new chips belonging to the Sandy Bridge architecture is characterized by providing dedicated hardware accelerator optimize tasks of encoding and decoding video.

Intel will market five new Core i7 processors and four Core i5. The Core i7 is faster 2620M model, and has 4 MB of cache and 2.7 GHz clock speed, but can be up to 3.4 GHz over clock speed under certain conditions. For its part, the fastest Core i5 is the model 2540M, which is clocked at 2.6 GHz with 3 MB of cache, and offers a dissipation of 35 watts. The price of these processors has not been made public at the moment.
