Lexar SD Cards
Lexar has doubled the capacity of SD cards with the launch of new SDXC 128 GB and will offer greater capacity for users of digital cameras and video.
Lexar Media announced the first cards SDXC Secure Digital 128 GB, Doubling the capacity of existing SDXC cards, available in capacities up to 64 GB. The company also announced SDXC 133x card with a storage capacity of 64 GB.
The products were announced just before Consumer Electronics Show (CES), to be held in Las Vegas between 06 January and 9 January.
SDXC is the latest specification enables SD cards to reach a theoretical storage capacity of up to 2 TB, with data transfer rates of 104 MB per second. However, many devices are still SD and SDHC slots that are older. The SDHC, offer a maximum capacity of 32GB.
The Lexar 133x cards are also compliant with the specification SDXC, and data transfer is about 20 MB per second, the company said in a statement. The card is aimed at professional photographers who need to store images and high definition video, the company said.
The memory card of 128 GB is priced at $ 699.99 (524 €) in the U.S., and will be available in the first quarter of 2011. Card 133x 64 GB and is priced at $ 399.99 (€ 299.5).
