MSI Motherboard 790GX
MSI has introduced two new motherboards with AMD AM3 socket for AMD Phenom II processors and DDR3 memory modules.
As recently predicted Kingston it seems that this will be the year of DDR3 memory modules, which already supports Intel processors in its Core i7, and is now incorporated into the platforms and AMD Phenom X4 processors with the integration of the plates 790GX chipset base.
The first manufacturer which surprisingly has already announced the availability of plates has been MSI, with two new models (the 790GX and 790FX-G65-GD70) already offer support DDR3 and the new socket AM3. According to details revealed by the manufacturer, the AM3 socket with 941 pins to accommodate processors.
The new 790GX chipset family graphics are given by the ATI Radeon HD 3300, which includes up to 128 MB dedicated DDR3 Memory through Side Port. This chipset will also provide new motherboards great connectivity, including VGA-type video output, DVI and HDMI. Thus, the board also supports Hybrid Cross Fire X feature a second AMD Radeon card.
A few days ago, AMD had Dragon platform based on the new Phenom X4 processors, which must be accompanied by AMD Radeon HD 4800 graphics and AMD 790GX chipsets. This platform, awaiting the arrival of motherboards with new chipsets (those presented here) does not support DDR3 and Socket AM3 available. Thus, MSI stands as one of the first manufacturers to have the new solution.
Discussed the two plates, the MSI 790FX-GD70 is called to be the flagship motherboard market today, with four PCI-Express 16x slots, and five stages Dr MOS power, to ensure compatibility with processors quad-core power dissipation which is maximum TDP of 140 watts.
Like the MSI 790GX-G65, the other 790FX-GD70 model also supports up to 16 GB of dual channel DDR3 RAM, and comes with two PCI-Express 1x slots and two regular PCI.
Both motherboards support M-Flash technology, MSI, through which you can update the BIOS firmware using a USB device, among other features.
