Consumer Electronics Show - The Capital of Gadget
The industry of consumer electronics these days has its technological developments in Las Vegas. The products today are in the CES will be those who will use the rest of the year. Las Vegas is this weekend during the city’s technological world. Like every year, the capital of the game becomes the capital of the gadget to host a new edition of the CES (Consumer Electronics Show), the biggest stage there is about technological developments.
The economic crisis of 2009 has not prevented the fair starting with optimism. The organizers expect the visit of more than 100,000 professionals and journalists accredited to receive, have gathered a whopping 2,800 exhibitors. No one brand of technology that does not have minimum knowledge gap in the Convention Center in Las Vegas.
CES is a window into the future on which to watch the TV (especially the three dimensions), the hard drive, laptop, mobile phone or camera that we’ll be buying in a few months. What follows are the keys to the largest exhibition of gadgets on the planet.
Televisions
With 3D and connected

The manufacturers agree. 2010 will be the year of the launch of three dimensions on large TV lounge. Toshiba and Samsung have submitted teams whose hearts are more image processors own desktop consoles that televisions. With these chips, televisions will be capable of three-dimensional 2D images. To do so, for now, are needed glasses with polarization system. Panasonic has developed and presented the first plasma TV that is sold together with the goggles. Other companies announcing more minor universal goggles and can be purchased separately for the images off the screen as long as the TV is ready.
Connectivity is the other main workhorse of manufacturers who are struggling to add functionality to their computers. Almost all the models presented already have direct network connection or wi-fi to connect to the internet. Across the line is waiting television theme channels, online video stores and even videoconferencing. The company called IP telephony, Skype works with LG, Panasonic and other manufacturers to integrate video calls on their televisions.
Computers
Triumph the tactile
Laptop computers are passed to the phenomenon of touch screen phones as they did last year. Steve Ballmer, Microsoft, gave the starting signal to the display, along with Hewlett Packard, HP Slate. The team is well ahead of Apple in inaugurating a new type of computer: the Tablet or slates. This laptop is very thin and light with no keyboard and instead has a touch screen from which to manage them. His resemblance to the e-book readers or eReaders is suspicious and it appears that the slates hope to gain much market eReaders adding functions like streaming video or Internet surfing.
Along with slates or tablets, the other more privileged side of the ESC computer remains the netbook. These small computers are passed this year’s new range of Intel’s Atom low power consumption. More power and autonomy of the batteries at the expense of small rise in it is very low price.
Mobile
The arrival of smartbook
The arrival of Google in the mobile world with the HTC Google Nexus One promises to add fuel to the fire of the Android operating system. The ESC mobile terminal is a follow up to Google with ever-larger screens like the LG GW990, 4.8 inches. The arrival of new ultraminiaturizados processor platforms such as Intel’s Moorestown, the Nvidia Tegra or the Qualcomm Snapdragon, have created a new category of devices: the smartbook. Halfway between portable and mobile, smartbook intended to be a smaller, cheaper version of the netbook to connect to the internet anywhere.
E-Book
Size ‘versus’ portability
The pattern to follow for new e-book reader unveiled at CES is to increase the size of the screen or include a second monitor for the feeling when you open it more of a book. Neither Intel or Samsung, or any of the companies that manufacture these devices are increasing their benefits. Moreover, the arrival of the Slates could end up with a merger between the two types of device. 2010 is the year in which to read these gadgets will be affordable and thus popular.
Inventions
Project of the helicopter Natal Wireless
Not just TVs, phones and computers live show. The Convention Center in Las Vegas is full of other devices that do not easily fit into a particular category. The SD consortium responsible for this form of memory cards, has introduced the first commercial models of 48 and 64 GB, developed by Panasonic.
Microsoft offers more progress on Project Natal, your gaming system without controls, which will arrive in late 2010. Meanwhile, Parrot is distancing itself from the usual hands-free car and features the AR Drone, a toy helicopter controlled by the sign of the iPhone wi-fi. With it you can play a flight simulator augmented reality. It’s more playful side of that window that lets us see the future, for four days, from sunny Las Vegas.
